Apparently, while they may have laughed at me, it wasn't so bad that they totally vetoed the plan. So here we go. A little bit about us:
Out of the group of five, two are in education, two work in the non-profit sector (one as a database guru and one in graphic design), and we have a nurse practioner-in-training. Two of us have been friends since high school. Two of us met in college. Two of us are singing in another's wedding. All five of us met either at West End Presbyterian Church or Franklin Street Community.
Despite our individual differences, quirks, and preferences, the friendship we've found together is amazing, and I know I personally attribute that to "the Tie that binds."
The name of the blog is a derivative of "Bible Study" - the reason we started meeting. It's morphed over time to "B-stud" and then the blog name wasn't too much of a stretch from there. :)
Some weeks we open the Bible, some weeks we don't. As Paul writes in Thessalonians, "We've not only shared the Gospel with you, but our lives as well because you've become so dear to us." Sometimes time together to just catch up, laugh, cry, pray, etc. is what we've needed, so you never know what you're going to get when you show up to that Starbucks.
