To celebrate on Whitney's actual 26th birthday (November 23rd), a handful of us went to see the Christmas Lights at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens and then headed to Rare Olde Times, an authentic Irish pub on Patterson Avenue. Rare Olde Times has live music 6 nights a week - and they have a habit of asking birthday celebrators to join them.
I just embarrassed her by announcing her birthday - and telling them she'd love to sing.
First, she sang "Country Roads" coyly. But the lead singer guy could hear her voice and asked for another...
Next, "Danny Boy." And another? How about "Summertime?"
